Queensland Arts Minister John-Paul Langbroek overrode the Queensland Performing Arts Centre board's recommendation to name a new theatre after Aboriginal poet Oodgeroo Noonuccal, instead selecting "Glasshouse Theatre" following a public vote that did not include Oodgeroo as an option. The decision comes as the state government also moves to remove Oodgeroo's name from a state electorate, following a Liberal National Party request.
