Tropical Cyclone Narelle, which formed south of the Solomon Islands on Tuesday, is expected to intensify to a category 4 system and make landfall near Coen on Queensland's Cape York on Friday, with authorities warning it could be the biggest cyclone in living memory. The storm, currently category 3 with wind gusts reaching 200-250 km/h, is forecast to bring intense rainfall, flash flooding and strong tides, prompting evacuations including from Lizard Island resort and emergency preparations across far north Queensland and the Northern Territory.
