France and Germany have set an April deadline to resolve disputes between defense contractors Dassault and Airbus over joint development of a next-generation fighter jet known as the Future Combat Air System (FCAS). The program, intended to replace Germany's Eurofighter and France's Rafale jets by 2040, has stalled over disagreements about whether to build one or two separate warplanes.
