NetEase has withdrawn funding from Nagoshi Studio, the Tokyo-based developer founded by Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi, with support ending in May. The studio's debut game Gang of Dragon, which requires an additional $44.4 million to complete, is now at risk as Nagoshi seeks alternative funding and negotiations continue with NetEase over acquisition of the company's assets and intellectual property.
