An international team of astronomers identified the brightest fast radio burst ever observed, designated FRB 20250316A and nicknamed RBFLOAT, and traced it to galaxy NGC 4141 approximately 130 million light-years away using the CHIME/FRB Outrigger telescope array. The burst, detected March 16, 2025, lasted about one-fifth of a second and showed no signs of repeating, challenging current theories about the origins of these cosmic phenomena.
