More than 20 MPs have demanded an urgent meeting with Travelodge CEO Jo Boydell following a sexual assault at a Maidenhead branch in December 2022, where staff gave attacker Kyran Smith a keycard after he falsely claimed to be the victim's boyfriend. The hotel chain subsequently offered the assault victim a £30 refund, which it acknowledged was inappropriate, and has committed to reviewing its room security procedures.
