Mexican military forces killed 11 people during a raid in Culiacan, Sinaloa state, that resulted in the capture of Omar Oswaldo Torres, leader of the Los Mayos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel. The Navy said its personnel returned fire after being attacked at the scene and seized high-powered weapons and tactical equipment.
