Age Assurance
Minimum age
Otto is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. If you are under 13, you may not use Otto, with or without registering. If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you may only use Otto with the express consent of your parent or guardian.
How we verify age
By creating an account or using Otto, you represent and warrant that you meet the minimum age requirements set out in our Terms of Service. Otto relies on this self-certification as its primary age assurance mechanism.
Ongoing protections
Otto uses automated systems that monitor activity on the platform for signals that may indicate a user is underage. These signals include age-related statements in posts and comments, references to school attendance, and other contextual patterns. If these systems detect a potential underage user, the account is flagged for review.
Otto also uses device fingerprinting and IP address analysis to prevent users whose accounts have been removed from immediately creating new ones.
What we do not do
Otto does not collect government-issued identity documents for age assurance. We do not use facial recognition or facial age estimation. We do not collect your date of birth or birth year. We do not share age assurance information with third parties or use it for advertising.
Soliciting information from minors
Users may not solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 18. Violations of this policy will result in immediate account suspension.
Contact
If you believe an underage user is using the platform, or if you have questions about how we handle age assurance, you can contact us via our contact form.
