Researchers at amplifying.ai analyzed 2,430 Claude Code responses across 3 models and 20 tool categories, finding that the AI assistant builds custom solutions in 12 of 20 categories rather than recommending existing tools, with notable exceptions like GitHub Actions (94%), Stripe (91%), and shadcn/ui (90%) receiving near-monopoly selection rates. Newer model versions show a recency gradient, shifting preferences from established tools like Prisma and Redis toward newer alternatives like Drizzle and custom implementations, while traditional cloud providers like AWS received zero primary picks for deployment despite their market dominance.
